Rental Facilities at Thronateeska Heritage Center

Chautauqua Room
   Once the dining room for the Railroad Depot, the Chautauqua Room is an elegant 1400+ square feet of space. It will accommodate:

     • 250 persons for a stand-up function
     • 125 persons seated theater style
     • 100 persons arranged with tables for dinner or a conference

     Available equipment includes 2 TV/VCR's on movable stands and a drop-down screen. A caterer's kitchen is available to assist with your food service needs.
   Included with the rental of the Chautauqua Room is the adjoining platform. This open-air, yet covered facility is ideal for large, casual gatherings such as dances, receptions and parties. 

The Platform
  The Platform may be rented alone and can accommodate up to 500 people in a stand-up setting.

Fryer-Merrit House

Historic Thronateeska Heritage Center Home of the Discovery Center, Railroad Museum, and The Wetherbee Planetarium

    Although not its original location, the Fryer-Merritt
House was built in the 
1880's and is used for administrative offices for the center. In addition, the "Living Room" and the "Dining Room" are ideal for wedding receptions, teas, showers, and small business meetings. It will accommodate: 

     •  50 persons for a stand-up function
     •  25 persons seated theater style 
     •  15 persons for seated dinner
     •  20 persons using conference tables

General Information

   All facilities are handicap accessible. Security/Damage deposit of $175 is due when the rental application is submitted to reserve the designated date. The deposit is fully refunded if the area rented is left in an orderly manner after the event. Cancellations less than 30 days prior to the event forfeit deposit. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas. Deep-fat frying is not permitted in the indoor facilities. All damages to the property and exhibits which exceed the security/damage deposit shall be the responsibility of the renter. All events must conclude by 1:00 a.m. and all clean-up must be completed within the allotted time period to avoid additional charges at $50 per hour.
